WORKS

KEEBS @ UC San Diego

Design Pieces from my time as the Artist Team Lead at a UC San Diego mechanical keyboard club. The works include promotional artwork, logo/brand design, poster design, etc., which helped develop my skills in composition. I primarily utilized Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Clip Studio Paint to create the pieces.

Brand Design

Alongside the wide range of design work done for the club, I also completely redesigned Keebs' art direction and streamlined style guides for a uniform aesthetic throughout general use cases and event-specific styles.

Personal Design Work

Personal design illustrations and layouts done either to improve my eye and skills, or just for fun. Common tools used for these pieces include Clip Studio Paint, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Animate.

PROCESS

Research and Sketching

I delve into both studies on user experience and aesthetic references for the project to be designed. After gathering all the necessary references, I begin sketching a wireframe for the site/app.

Prototyping

After determining the direction of the design, I begin a more polished planning and sketch process in a mixture of Clip Studio Paint and Figma, where animated features and certain typographic styles are determined and finalized before they are ready to be transferred to a final site or website builder like Wix.

Asset Creation

While different utility icons and images are sketched or determined during the planning and sketching phase, they begin to be refined and finalized during prototyping. Non-vector images are typically done through Clip Studio Paint, while vectorized images are started through Clip Studio and finished on Adobe Illustrator.

KEEBS @ UC San Diego

A full redesign of the main webpages of the KeebsAtUCSD website, utilizing the brand design style-guide. Prototyping fully done in Figma (free version).

A test prototype of a newly designed layout and general visual redesign of the KeebsAtUCSD website. All components of each webpage are intended to match and feel uniform from page to page, creating an easy-to-follow visual heiarchy to avoid clutter and user confusion. The much more vertical design of the webpages also allows for much easier translation from desktop to mobile phone designs.
